Meet the Track Performance Squad: Tilly Gurney

Next up: Track Queen Tilly. She came in last year and transformed our girls squad from mediocre to pro. This year she took on the role of track captain and has whipped everyone into shape both on and off the track.
1. How long have you been cycling for?
Riding for 13 years, riding the track for 6 now.
2. How did you get into track cycling?
I was sent to a cluster session at Manchester velodrome by my club coach when I was 12, then got put onto British Cyclings Regional School of Racing sessions. Went from there!
3. What is your favourite piece of kit?
My favourite piece of kit at the moment has got to be my Giro Empire shoes, comfy and fast
4. What is your biggest achievement so far?
My biggest achievement this season was a silver in the National 800m and 5k Grass Track Champs, I’ve been on the 3rd step for years now. Hopefully I can go one better at BUCS!
5. What are your goals for this season?
This season I want to medal in the Bunch races at BUCS and qualify for Nationals in January.
6. Fun fact about you?
In 2015 I was in a Comic Relief episode of Blue Peter with Chris Hoy 😎
